Human touch is medicine. At one point or another in our lifetimes, we have conveyed that to those in our care–through a hug, a gesture during a bath routine with a child or an aging parent, or the loving application of a bandage. We have all used touch as medicine.

Some of us make this our profession. Some work as acupuncturists, physical therapists, energy practitioners, or massage therapists like me. We all share a common quality–genuine empathy for the human condition. This, coupled with our foundational education, decades of experience, honed techniques, and continued curiosity allows us to care for our clients in thoughtful and thriving practices.

“Andrea is bright, creative, knowledgeable, and the best of many massage therapists I have worked with. She listens and focuses on the specific problem at hand - not the usual same routine every time.”

Mac Lewis, 77, Santa Fe, NM

My practice was sparked at a young age. I knew I wanted to serve and support people on their life journeys. In 1994, this calling led me from Manhattan to Santa Fe where I enrolled in the New Mexico Academy for the Healing Arts. I worked hard and earned a 650-hour degree in Swedish massage. I graduated in 1995 with a commitment to providing personalized care to all my clients. Since then, I’ve maintained a home-based private practice.

When you book a session with me, I take the time to understand why you’ve come in the first place. Your reason may stem from a chronic or acute condition, depression, or anxiety. You may be preparing for surgery or chemotherapy or in recovery. You may be pregnant or postpartum. Perhaps you’re an athlete on a mission. You could be self-honoring, maintaining, aging, or experiencing other life adjustments. Whatever the why, I’m here to listen with emotional depth and come up with a soft tissue plan. I will address your concerns and meet you where it feels right and true.

After almost 30 years in this profession, I still love meeting new people and supporting them through massage. I don’t discriminate on any basis–all are welcome! My practice is located upstairs and clients will need to navigate a one story staircase.

Call today to see if my professional practice is a good fit for you.

EDUCATION

Every two years, in order to stay current with my massage therapy license as issued by the State of New Mexico Massage Therapy Board, I take continuing education classes, four hours of ethics, and am certified in First Aid, CPR, and AED defibrillator machines.  Some of the hands-on classes I’ve taken since 1996 include but are not limited to: isolated stretching for rehabilitation, phase 4 ‘extremities,’ cranial-sacral courses from Hugh Milne instructors, Ortho-Bionomy and neuromuscular workshops with an emphasis on ‘forward head’ tilt and TMJ.
